"There is a big 'wow' factor about it..."
Client response to a testimonial request from the National Trust...
"Paul Cameron at Treehouse Life Ltd. built a Rope Bridge for us earlier this year across the higher reaches of the River Brue, where we live in Somerset. It is around twenty feet above the river across a steeply banked wooded gorge. We are delighted with it and it has caused a lot of interest and enthusiasm locally.
It was put up by Paul and his team very efficiently, safely and reliably. We were particularly impressed with the thoughtfulness of his design, his ability to make use of existing natural features such as trees to anchor cables etc. and the care he took to find exactly the optimum crossing point for it in the location we had chosen. The bridge is capable of taking a huge weight but we advise not more than 2-3 persons at a time on it [simply to stop young people fooling around on it]. What we particularly like about it is that it is in a sensitive landscape site in a quiet wooded location above a waterfall.
Being of rope and wood the bridge fits in seamlessly and naturally in a way that a much more expensive steel bridge would not have done. There is a big 'wow' factor about it [indeed thats exactly what everyone says when they see it] and it has therefore enhanced our property considerably, and of course enabled us to access parts that previously could only be accessed by a long walk round the lanes.
Lastly we were impressed by Paul and his enthusiasm for the job and understanding of our concern for the environment in this sensitive location."
