Epic Rope Bridge Adventure to Quebec
…connecting shipping ‘dolphins’ at sea with a 30m Rope Bridge.
A remarkable Rope Bridge Installation
On the east coast of Quebec, crafted and engineered by our expert team at Treehouse Life. Designed to connect two massive concrete ‘dolphins’ at an at-sea dock, this 30-meter ‘cat-walk’ Rope Bridge demonstrates our commitment to both niche and world-class construction.
The Epic Journey
Our Rope Bridge project began in the Surrey Hills, where the bridge was pre-produced in our workshop. The 1.6-tonne structure was then air-freighted to Toronto, where it embarked on a 16-hour road journey via Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec, arriving at the site amidst breathtaking snow-covered landscapes. Transporting the bridge components required careful planning, including the use of an electric cart to move them through a 1.5km tunnel leading to the dock where large transit ships berth.
This particular Rope Bridge design, engineered to withstand the harsh conditions of Quebec, was no ordinary installation. It needed to link two 100-tonne concrete ‘dolphins’ at a cement plant located near a mountain of limestone—a cement resource estimated to last another 100 years. The challenge was formidable, but our team was up for the task.
Rope Bridge Challenges and Solutions
The project site posed significant challenges, including freezing temperatures of -11C and the logistical complexities of transporting large materials through snow-covered terrain. However, our 4-man expert team completed the installation in just 3.5 days, a feat that three large engineering companies had previously deemed “impossible” over a span of 12 months.
We provided comprehensive Design Load calculations, ensuring the Rope Bridge met Canadian structural standards. Additionally, the project was certified with a Canadian structural engineer stamp, confirming its safety and durability.
Our Client Feedback
Our client was amazed by the speed and efficiency of our installation, particularly given the adverse weather conditions and the complexity of the site. The success of this project is a testament to our team’s dedication and expertise, proving that no challenge is too great for Treehouse Life.
What’s Next…?
This Rope Bridge project on the east coast of Quebec is another example of our ability to deliver exceptional and niche engineering solutions. From snowy road trips to moose sightings in the wilderness, this project was as epic as they come. We’re now looking forward to our next adventure—a five Rope Bridge and Treetop Walkway installation at an Adventure Park in the Caribbean.
